Anthony Santander (2 for 3, HR, R, 3 RBI) kicked off the scoring with his fourth Grapefruit League homerun in the first inning. Ryan O’Hearn (2 for 4, HR, R, RBI) homered as well, one batter later.
Gunnar Henderson (2 for 3, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI) added a second inning homer.
Jorge Mateo (3 for 3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, SB) had a solid game at the plate as did Tyler Nevin (1 for 2, 2B, 2 RBI).
Adley Rutschman went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored.
Heston Kjerstad went 1 for 2 with a run scored and one RBI.
Dean Kremer (3-1) was the starter and pitcher of record, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while walking 2, striking out 5 and throwing a wild pitch in a total of 3.2 innings; Kremer did leave with two outs in the third inning and re-entered in the fourth.
Craig Kimbrel (1.0 IP, 3 K) struck out the side in the fifth.
