On Tuesday afternoon, the Baltimore Orioles organization announced they would be promoting Brandon Young to the AAA Norfolk Tides.
Young posted a 4.09 ERA in seven appearances in 2024, including six starts and 22 total innings. He recorded 36 strikeouts and just four walks during that time. He has the fewest number of walks this season by a Baysox starter. Young struck out seven batters in four of his seven 2024 outings.
Brandon Young signed with the Orioles in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana-Lafayette and debuted with Bowie in 2022. He pitched three starts for the Baysox before needing season-ending Tommy John surgery. Young returned to the Baysox in August 2023 and posted a 4.26 ERA over 25.1 innings.
Brandon Young’s final stat line over his three seasons with the Baysox includes a 3.71 ERA over 60.2 innings, finishing with 69 strikeouts and 16 walks.
