The Orioles winning 91 regular season games offers a lot to be thankful for.
Hello, friends.
It is Thanksgiving Day here in America. It is highly unlikely that there will be any kind of Orioles development, or MLB development, today and probably until this holiday weekend is over. You never know, though, because there have been weekend after Thanksgiving transactions of note in past years.
Black Friday shopping does not apply to free agents. They are going to cost the same as they would have a week ago and that they will cost two months from now. I think most of us are talking ourselves into the Orioles engaging in some kind of spending spree, but it certainly has not come to pass yet. Maybe it will by the time the offseason is over. Not many names you might have wanted the Orioles to sign are off the board quite yet. Tough luck for all the Blake Snell fans out there, though.
This was a good year for the Orioles. I’m thankful for that. It didn’t always feel good as the team dropped to a .500 pace over the second half of the year. It certainly didn’t feel good over the course of the two games that the team was in the postseason. 91 wins and a most-years-MVP-caliber season from Gunnar Henderson are things to celebrate. We got past Cy Young winner form (except for one month) from Corbin Burnes. The O’s pulled off 33 comeback wins. They won the season series against every other AL East team.
These things were all good and it’s important not to lose sight of that while hoping for better next year.

Orioles are counting on big improvements from some of their youngest players (Steve Melewski)
Jackson Holliday and Coby Mayo being able to make the adjustments that Colton Cowser and Grayson Rodriguez did would definitely be a help for the 2025 team.
With a refined delivery and workout routine, Trevor Rogers hopes to regain old form for the Orioles (The Baltimore Banner)
If I’m being honest, I’ve so thoroughly written Rogers off after his initial impression that I don’t even think about him when considering either rotation or bullpen options.

The Orioles are giving out turkeys to families who need them, as they have done for the past decade.
