Both sets of games in the NLDS have been thrilling so far
It’s time for game three of the NLDS with both series tied at 1-1. As an impartial observer, I find both series incredibly exciting so far. There have been lead changes, comebacks, walk-offs, bad blood, and more than our fair share of dingers.
With the Yankees, Royals, Tigers, and Guardians off to travel to a new city, the Phillies and Mets kick things off in New York while the Dodgers and Padres play in San Diego.
Both games will be broadcast on FS1.
Phillies @ Mets, 5:08 pm – Series tied 1-1
Starting pitchers: Aaron Nola (14-8, 3.57 ERA) vs Sean Manaea (12-6, 3.47 ERA)
For most of game two in Philadelphia on Sunday, it looked like these teams would head to New York with the Phillies on the verge of being swept. But the game turned into an instant classic when the PH came back in the seventh inning to take the lead. The Mets answered with more runs, and the chaotic game ended with a walk-off hit from Nick Castellanos.
Momentum isn’t something I give much credence to, but even if I did I don’t know know if the Phillies actually have it. They did have the most exciting moment of the series so far to end the last game, but these teams seem like they will fight it out til the bitter end.
Dodgers @ Padres, 9:08 pm – Series tied 1-1
Starting pitchers: Walker Buehler (1-6, 5.38 ERA) vs Michael King (13-9, 2.95 ERA)
This series has been U-G-L-Y. The Padres are probably happy to get back their friendly confines after having baseballs and other debris thrown at them by the Dodgers fans after the two teams spent most of Sunday’s game jawing at each other. The Padres had the last laugh, of course, in a 10-2 rout to tie the series.
After the game the Dodgers accused alleged bad boy Manny Machado of purposely throwing a baseball at Dave Roberts in the Dodgers dugout, which…seems absurd to me. You’re telling me he purposely threw a baseball at the manager of the other team? JenniferLawrenceOK.gif
Who ya got?
