The Dodgers look to get the brooms out and secure a World Series title over the Yankees.
The Dodgers are one game away from busting out the brooms and sending the Yankees home for the winter. Los Angeles took a three-game lead with a 4-2 win last night at Yankee Stadium.
While hating the Yankees comes natural to most of us, there’s another factor in play this year. Baltimore won the season series 8-5, and the Orioles looked like the better team for a large chunk of the season.
Both clubs had dominant stretches, but the two teams refused to take control of the AL East over the dog days of summer. The Yankees righted the ship in September, and they deserve credit for that, but New York certainly didn’t feel like the World Series champions when it played Baltimore this year.
The Orioles dropped their only series against the Dodgers in 2024. Los Angeles paid for a championship-caliber roster this season, and the team is one win away from earning the title.
