In a tough Washington Wizards season, the rookie center is on track to win the Rookie of the Year race.
The Washington Wizards have lost 10 games in a row. But for Wizards center Alex Sarr, he is in position not just to be one of the top rookies of the 2024-25 NBA season. He is on track to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
Last week, Steve Aschburner of NBA.com wrote this about Sarr, who led his rookie rankings on Jan. 14:
Sarr’s shooting and scoring have dipped from his East Rookie of the Month work in December, but his rebounds and assists are up. Against Minnesota, he contributed 13 points, hit 3-of-5 from the arc and had two steals and two blocks.
Sarr is currently averaging 11.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He is also averaging 31.1 percent of his three point shots, which has generally trended up this season.
