The Washington Wizards lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in their last home game of the 2024-25 NBA season.
Positives for the Wizards
- Tristan Vukcevic (24 pts, 3/4 from three): Showed serious offensive upside, especially from deep. He was a spark off the bench in a game where few others had it.
- Colby Jones & Kyshawn George: Both played decently, scoring in double figures (13 and 13 respectively) and contributing across the board. Jones added 7 boards and 4 assists.
- Free throw shooting: The Wizards hit 83.3% of their free throws (25/30), a rare highlight in a rough night.
- Fast break game: Outscored Philly in transition (17-15), showing some hustle.
Negatives
- Rebounding battle lost (47-55): Philly outmuscled Washington on the boards, with Colin Castleton grabbing 14 rebounds by himself.
- Perimeter defense collapsed: The 76ers went 16/50 from three—not an elite percentage, but Washington gave up far too many open looks, especially to Quentin Grimes (4/7 3P in the second half).
- Turnover issues (17): Sloppy passing and poor decisions plagued the Wizards, especially from Jaylen Martin and Tristan Vukčević (combined 7 turnovers).
- AJ Johnson struggled again: Just 1/11 from the field and -19 on the night. Tough to win with your starting guard that cold.
- No real fight late: The 76ers outscored the Wizards 33-24 in the 4th and led by as much as 23. No crunch-time competitiveness.
- Wizards’ 3-point woes (30.3%): Shooting just 10/33 from deep won’t cut it in today’s NBA—especially when your opponent puts up 50 3PA.
