Many of the names will be familiar to Wizards fans as they represented the organization last year as well
The Capital City Go-Go have announced their training camp roster prior to the 2024-2025 season. This is the first season with new general manager Jonathan Wall at the helm.
With the Wizards short on point guards at the moment, Jared Butler looks likely to continue to get minutes with the main club for the time being. However, as a two-way contract player he can play a maximum of 50 games with the Wizards. Tristan Vukcevic and Justin Champagnie appear to be mostly out of the Wizards’ rotation and likely more available for the Go-Go.
I would expect John Butler Jr. and Michael Foster Jr. to see considerable minutes again this season on a roster that is otherwise somewhat limited in the frontcourt. Taylor Funk is another returner I’d expect to see in the rotation as a floor-spacer after a strong end to Summer League.
Jaylen Nowell and Kira Lewis Jr. have both seen significant NBA minutes so I’d expect them to feature heavily. Mouhamadou Gueye looked intriguing in 11 games for Toronto last year so I think the Go-Go will give him plenty of opportunities. Leaky Black appeared in 26 games for the Hornets last season and is an NBA-level defender right now. If he can hit enough perimeter shots, he’s also someone who could establish himself.
