Kristaps Porzingis had a big debut for the Washington Wizards, with 25 points in a win over the Indiana Pacers. Following the game, Porzingis said it felt right to be in Washington.
“From the moment I got here, I just felt comfortable,” Porzingis said. “I’m excited to be a Wizard.”
Porzingis said he had hoped to make his debut sooner, but that Washington’s medical staff wanted to wait until he was fully healthy. The big man played 21 minutes in his debut, operating mostly out of the center position.
The Wizards also said that they haven’t given up hope on making a run at the Play-In Tournament. Washington is two games behind the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets, who are all tied for the 8-10 seeds.
