What to watch for
- Fresh off an Olympic gold medal, Napheesa Collier will be looking to bully the Mystics’ bigs as her Lynx fight off the surging Storm and Aces in the WNBA standings. Minnesota is not at risk of falling out of the playoff race, but they currently sit in third place and are fighting to keep home court advantage through the early rounds of the playoffs.
- The Lynx are not a particularly deep team, and they rely heavily on All-Stars Collier and Kayla McBride. Washington’s defensive personnel will likely have an incredibly tough time keeping up with Minnesota’s two stars.
- The Washington Mystics are a deceptively good basketball team. Though they possess the worst record in the league, they are massively weighed down by a dreadful 0-12 start and have been playing below-average (at least not terrible!) basketball as of late. The Mystics actually have a middle-of-the-pack point differential, and theirs is substantially better (or less bad, I should say) than other comparably bad teams like the Sparks and Wings.
