They will be facing off against one of the WNBA’s top regular season teams in the process.
The Washington Mystics host the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday afternoon. Let’s get to it.
Game Info
When: Sunday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. ET
Where: Entertainment and Sports Arena, Washington, DC
How to watch: Monumental Sports Network or ESPN3
Injuries: For the Mystics, Shakira Austin (ankle) is questionable and Ariel Atkins is day-to-day. For the Lynx, no injuries are reported.
What to watch for
The Mystics have won six of their last nine games since the Olympic break. They have generally beaten the teams they should be beating: the Los Angeles Sparks and Dallas Wings, while also beating the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm.
As for the Lynx, Washingotn has yet to win against them this season. In fact, their first two losses since the Olympic break were against Minny and neither were competitive. The Lynx are 25-9 at this point in the season and are contenders for a Finals run. Can Washington make the third time the charm and come away with the upset? Given their momentum, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the win.
