Game Notes
- Be on rookie watch during this game. Reed Sheppard, a preseason favorite for Rookie of the Year, has not had much of an opportunity yet for the Rockets this season. He’s playing just 11.5 minutes per game and averaging 3.4 points. Meanwhile, Bub Carrington, Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George are fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, among rookies in scoring this year. The trio combines to put up 28.9 points per game.
- Keep an eye on the second unit for both teams. The Rockets are one of the deepest teams in the NBA, while the Wizards go only eight deep (and three of those eight are rookies).
- Jordan Poole is back from the dead this season. He’s shooting a scorching 45.6% from deep on over eight attempts per game (and is picking off 2.4 steals per game to boot, good for second in the NBA).
