What to watch for
The Bilal Coulibaly MIP train keeps chugging along
The Wizards’ first win streak of the season didn’t last long, as the team lost to the Miami Heat on Saturday. But Bilal Coulibaly’s strong run of games continued. The second-year pro poured in 22 points on 8/12 shooting and made both of his three-point attempts against the Heat. He also grabbed eight rebounds and didn’t commit a single turnover.
Over the last four games, Coulibaly averaged 22.3 points per game on a stellar 61.1% shooting clip. He’s shot a blistering 10/21 from three-point range during that span.
Can the Wiz put an end to Buddy Hield’s Curry 2.0 act?
Stephen Curry has missed the Warriors’ last three games. But despite that, Golden State has won all three by an average of 13 points. That’s all thanks to Buddy Hield looking like a Curry doppelgänger. During the Warriors’ three-game streak, Hield averaged 25.3 points and 17 three-pointers in total.
As much as Coulibaly will be needed on offense, he will also likely draw the defensive assignment of keeping Hield in check. While B-Cool recently did well against the ball-dominant Trae Young, chasing Hield around off the ball will be a different challenge for our gangly Frenchman.
