Emily Engstler was on fire tonight with 19 points and Washington is continuing their playoff push.
The Washington Mystics defeated the Dallas Wings, sdfSFDf on Tuesday night at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
In the game, Emily Engstler led with 19 points off the bench and Washington scored 50 bench points overall to get the win. The first half was key for Washington, as they shot 9-of-16 from three and took a commanding 51-37 lead.
In the second half, the Wings were able to chip away at Washington’s double digit lead and start the fourth quarter with a 71-65 lead. The Mystics countered to take a 90-75 lead after Ariel Atkins made a jump shot with 4:25 left. But they would never make another shot as the Wings made a furious comeback but couldn’t steal the win.
This win is Washington’s fourth in the last five games, helping them improve to 9-23 overall in a record tie with the Wings for the 10th place spot and they already have the tiebreaker to get toward a playoff spot. They’re just two games behind the Chicago Sky and Atlanta Dream for that.
Washington will continue their road trip on Thursday to play the Phoenix Mercury. Tip off is at 10 p.m. ET. See you then.
