Napheesa Collier was too much for the Mystics in this one.
The Washington Mystics lost to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday afternoon, 78-71 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Congress Heights.
Washington came into this game on a two-game win streak and as one of the hotter teams in the WNBA. It just so happened that they played against the Lynx, who have the second best record.
This game was still close. Neither team led by double digits. Both teams shot about 40 percent from the field. And neither team had a field day from the three point line.
Though the Mystics came out of the third quarter with a one point lead, the Lynx were able to come back and outscore WAshingotn 27-19 to win the game.
Napheesa Collier led the Lynx with 19 points and 12 rebounds. For Washington, Brittney Sykes led with 13 points.
The Mystics’ next game is on Wednesday when they head on the road to play the Chicago Sky. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. ET. See you then.
