Jordan Poole scored a game-high 35 points
The Washington Wizards lost to the Miami Heat 120-94 on Monday, dropping to 16-59 on the season.
It was a promising start for the Wizards, who led 6-4 behind a pair of Jordan Poole buckets. Miami began feeding Bam Adebayo, and the All-Star went to work, scoring 16 first-quarter points on 7-10 shooting to give the Heat a 13-point lead after the first frame.
More of the same ensued in the second quarter as Miami opened a 19-point advantage before the Wizards trimmed their deficit to 11 at halftime.
Jordan poole put together a 3-point barrage in the third quarter, draining four 3-pointers to give himself a game-high 35 points on 7-13 3pt. Poole’s night ended there, though, as he didn’t play in the final frame.
Miami’s domination continued until the final buzzer, as it defeated the Wizards, 120-94, behind Adebayo’s 28 points.
Wizards rookie Alex Sarr struggled mightily in the loss, scoring just eight points on 3-17 shooting and 1-7 from three. Tristan Vukcevic was the Wizards’ second-leading scorer with 14 points off the bench.
