The Wizards had another big preseason loss.
In their second preseason game the Washington Wizards played the Thibodeau-sort-of-new-look-Knicks in the Garden in New York City. This was probably an exciting game to watch for many a Knicks fan, as they see how their new squad is taking shape. For Wizards fans? Not so much. The game was competitive for something like 15 minutes or so, until the Knicks decided their starters should soon rest. Then, the Knicks went into the usual and full blow-out and pad stats mode, that Wizards’ opponents seem to take in the past (too many) years.
Bright spots?
Well, there were actually more competitive minutes than their first preseason game in Montreal. They actually tried for about a quarter and a half.
Also, Alex Sarr got plenty of minutes. And he even had a nice stat line: 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. The shooting can improve (5 of 14) but that’s encouraging.
Coulibaly was sort of MIA (1 of 9 from the field). Jordan Poole? Same same to the tune of 4-from-13 from the field.
The good thing? They lost by less than 25, which in the modern NBA is not much.
