Wizards have now lost 9 straight games
The Washington Wizards entered Madison Square Garden losers of eight straight games, dropping those contests by an average of 17.5 points.
It was more of the same on Monday as the Wizards were blown out by the Knicks, 134-106.
While there weren’t many bright spots in the loss, Bub Carrington quietly had himself an efficient night. The rookie scored a career-high 18 points on 7-16 shooting, including 4-8 from three, and grabbed four rebounds.
Corey Kispert seemed to find his shot after a few games filled with struggle, tallying 18 points and 6 rebounds on 4-9 3pt.
Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole combined for just 18 shots — a rarity this season for the Wizards’ leading scorers. A credit to the Knicks defense, perhaps, could be the reason for the limited attempts.
Once again, Washington’s defense failed them, allowing new York to shoot 20-40 (50%) from three just a day after allowing Detroit to shoot 45% from deep.
The Wizards never made this a contest as New York cruised to a dominant win.
