A 30-16 third quarter did the Wizards in.
The Washington Wizards lost to the Orlando Magic, 121-94 on Sunday night.
The Wizards’ shooting was good in the first half of this game. Kyshawn George scored 14 of his 15 points, including 4-of-5 from three. Jordan Poole continued his hot start to the 2024-25 NBA season with 15 of his 24 points.
That said, the third quarter did not go the Wizards’ way at all. The Magic outscored Washington 30-16. Neither team shot hotly from the field, but Washington committed eight turnovers in the third quarter, turning them into 14 Orlando points. By the time the fourth quarter came around, the outcome was decided and the Magic led by as many as 30 points at one point. Unfortunately, Bub Carrington was also hurt in the quarter and didn’t return, though he was able to walk to the locker room on his own.
George was a non factor the rest of the game, though Bilal Coulibaly continued his strong start to the 2024-25 season with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
For the Magic, Franz Wagner and former Wizards center Moritz Wagner scored 23 and 16 points, respectively.
The Wizards’ next game is tomorrow against the Houston Rockets. Tip off is at 8 p.m ET. See you then.
