Washington played valiantly throughout this game, but talent came through in the end. Jordan Poole led Washington with 38 points.
The Washington Wizards lost to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, 122-114. It is their ninth consecutive loss.
Washington began the first half with a solid 60-53 lead over Golden State, who was held to just 39.6 percent shooting. Poole shot 7-of-13 from the field and scored 23 of his 38 points against his former team.
In the third quarter, the Warriors inevitably got hot, shooting 65 percent and went into the fourth with a 89-87 lead. Andrew Wiggins and Dennis Schroder scored 10 points each to help Golden State get the momentum.
But the fourth quarter was an even affair until the four minute mark when their talent advantage came thought despite the fact that starting forward Draymond Green played just three minutes.
In addition to Poole, Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting. For the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins led with 31 points while Stephen Curry added 26 more.
The Wizards will continue their road trip tomorrow when they play against the Sacramento Kings. Tip off is at 9 p.m. ET. See you then.
