The Washington Wizards center hasn’t played one game at Capital One Arena yet. But other teams are lining up to get him.
Multiple NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks are anticipating that Washington Wizards center Jonas Valanciunas will be traded, perhaps as early as December, according to reports by Sean Deveney of Heavy.com and Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report.
Valanciunas signed a three-year, $30 million contract with Washington early in the NBA free agency period, which ensured that the serviceable big man would get a decent payday, but other contenders didn’t necessarily the space to sign him. Given hat his cap hit isn’t too high, other teams who want a center for a deep playoff run will be eyeing him. Meanwhile, the Wizards aren’t likely contending for much this season.
