Yesterday, Shams Charania announced on X that he was leaving The Athletic to become ESPN’s new senior NBA Insider.

Charania replaces Adrian Wojnarowski, who retired from sports journalism to become the General Manager of St. Bonaventure’s men’s basketball team.

As Washington Wizards fans, it will be sad not seeing Wojnarowski constantly post about moves. But Charania has been a stellar insider in his own right. In fact both were colleagues at Yahoo before becoming rivals.
