Just asking the community for some input as we head toward the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
The 2024-25 Washington Wizards season is quickly approaching. But at the moment, we are in the dog days of summer for the NBA. The Olympics ended earlier this month and training camp is still about one month away.
Though we are covering the Washington Mystics’ 2024 WNBA season which goes through mid-September, I also want to let you know that I haven’t forgotten about the Wizards. But at this time of the year, things are slow. They would have been slower if Bilal Coulibaly didn’t make the France men’s national basketball team.
The 2024-25 season will be an intriguing one, now that their rebuild is entering their second year. Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George will be intriguing additions to the team along with Bilal Coulibaly, last season’s first round pick.
But the Wizards are also likely to face another tough season in the standings. The bookies are thinking that Washington will remain as one of the NBA’s worst in 2024-25.
I’ve seen some of our fellow SB Nation team sites write an open thread or a post about former players of the teams they cover, whether their teams are competitive or not. So for the Wizards, that would mean something like us posting about how former Wizards players are doing like Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford and Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal.
Are you open to us writing a semi-regular series this season on former players as we get closer to the NBA season? Let us know in the comments below. Thanks!
