This is not unexpected news for the Connecticut super senior.
On Friday, Connecticut Huskies guard Paige Bueckers confirmed to ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo that she will be entering the 2025 WNBA Draft, as expected.
Paige Bueckers confirmed to us today that she will enter the 2025 @WNBA Draft. (Some had suggested she would not declare, play in Unrivaled, and then declare in 2026.)

We, like any other site covering the WNBA Draft, were expecting this all along. However, Bueckers still had a potential sixth year of college eligibility remaining due to a combination of injury redshirting and the additional year of eligibility from the coronavirus pandemic. So it was technically still possible that Bueckers could do an about face and stay at Storrs for one more season.
The Dallas Wings have the No. 1 overall pick and are expected to select her. That said, it will affect the Mystics because this could affect the top player they end up selecting. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
