The sophomore forward was the Mystics’ first round pick in 2024.
On Friday, the Washington Mystics announced that forward Aaliyah Edwards will represent the team at the 2025 WNBA Draft Lottery.

Edwards was drafted No. 6 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of the University of Connecticut. She averaged 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 34 appearances and also represented Canada in the 2024 Olympics in traditional 5X5 basketball.
Since Edwards went to college at UConn and the projected No. 1 pick is Huskies guard Paige Bueckers, I’m hoping that the Mystics get lucky. Though they have two first round picks in 2025, the other pick they have which was originally the Atlanta Dream’s will be No. 6 overall.
