The Washington Capitals face the Los Angeles Kings, on game two of a five game road trip out west. The Kings are 13-3-3 and second in the Pacific division and are also favored to win. The Capitals are on a two-game losing streak after losing to the Oilers and San Jose Sharks. The Capitals power play has also struggled having not scored in 11 straight games. This equates to over an hour of ice time having a man advantage.
Darcy Kuemper has a save percentage of .894 and has a record of 4-4-2. His goals against a game is just under 3 goals against at 2.95. Backup, Charlie Lindgren is 4-2-0 on the year with a goal against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of .926. On the other side of the rink Cam Talbot is 10-3-1 with a goals against average of 2.02. Phoenix Copley is 3-0-2 with a 3.04 goals against average.
The Capitals power play has struggled mightily this season. The team has had over an hour of time with a man advantage and still has not scored. Dylan Strome has a total of eight goals, and two of them coming on the power play. This leads the team for goals. In 18 games, the team leader for goals has only eight, which shows how bad the team needs to improve on the goal scoring front, and also on the putting pucks on net in hopes of getting a juicy rebound to put in the back of the net.
