The Washington Capitals return home after losing the second half of a back to back in Carolina. Nashville is 2-3 in their last five games. Washington is 3-2 in their last five games. The offense for Washington has been superb and is looking really good. The Capitals are averaging over 4 goals a game.
The power play needs work as it has only generated four goals through eleven games. The head coach Spencer Carberry, has been trying out new looks on the power play and moving players around so this should go up as the season goes on, and players get used to their new assignments. On the other side, the penalty kill is sitting at just under 85% and has only let in six goals in 11 games.
Logan Thompson is looking like a bonafide number one goaltender. He has looked phenomenal during his handful of starts, this season. Charlie Lindgren has looked good, but Thompson just seems calm, cool, and collected behind net. Logan Thompson also has not recorded a loss this season. His record is 5-0-0 so far and posts a .894 save percentage.
