The Washington Capitals fresh off a an 8-1 victory over the Blues, welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to town. The Capitals are also starting Logan Thompson on back to back games which is the first time this season, that the team has not rotated goalies in games.
The team who had been rotating goalies after each game, has decided to give Logan Thompson the starting nod. Thompson has posted a 7-0-0 record, with a 2.55 goals against per game and a .910 save percentage. These stats show that Thompson is hungry for the starting job and also that he seems more mentally prepared to be in goal.
Dylan Strome who is the team leader in points with 22, has also assisted on all 10 of Alex Ovechkin’s goals. Strome, who just recently amassed 200 career assists, has been a great playmaker, and also has a great vision of the ice, in order to open up scoring lanes.
