The Washington Capitals who opened their season against New Jersey, travels north to play their second game against the Devils. The Caps did lose their first game against them, however, they have bounced back with back to back wins over the previously unbeaten Vegas and Dallas teams.
The Capitals have looked phenomenal in their past two games. Not only have they been impressive on both penalty kills, but their power play has also looked very impressive. They have crashed the net, shown impressive carries into the offensive zone, and finally have more than just Ovechkin in his office. On the other side with the kill, they have been very active in chasing the puck, and also just keep it simple with clear down the ice, instead of trying to get fancy with it.
Both Goaltenders have also looked very sharp in the past couple games. Charlie Lindgren and Logan Thompson are fighting for the right to be goaltender 1, and the way both played lights out the past week shows how hungry they are for that spot.
