INDIANAPOLIS — Acaden Lewis, a four-star recruit in the class of 2025 out of Sidwell Friends (D.C.) and Team Durant, broke down his recent recruitment to ZAGSBLOG after a strong Nike EYBL third session in Indianapolis.
He dropped 28 points against The Family to close off the weekend, earning offers from Louisville and Georgia Tech after the game.
“I picked my spots well and showed a will to win,” he said postgame. “I did a little bit of everything defensively: [I] was solid on [the] ball and was active rebounding and getting in the mix. I got to my spots and made correct decisions for me, or my teammates.”
The 6-foot-2 point guard recently visited Virginia while rescheduling another with Georgetown. Whenever the time opens up, he plans to visit Syracuse and Michigan, among others.
“UVA was good; I’ve been up there a couple of times now, so that’s always different,” he said. “It’s good to see more, see how people live and their regiments daily. I got to talk to Coach [Tony] Bennett and went to his house.”
In terms of play style, Lewis is maturing into a lead guard for the next level.
“What you’re seeing is a guy who’s a playmaker, but he’s starting to mature into a game manager as well,” Sidwell Friends and Team Durant head coach Eric Singletary said. “He’s somebody you can really trust to run your team. He has a lot of stuff you can’t teach, but his progress over one year with the stuff we are working with him on has been incredible.”
With a jam packed EYBL schedule, Lewis prefers to take a positive outlook on things.
“It’s a blessing [to play here],” he said. “A lot of kids want to be where I am, so I’m very happy I’m here and just want to show out, get some wins and uplift my guys, make them look better as well.”
