WHAT’S AT STAKE
Georgetown: First of all there is a Hoyas MTE Championship to consider. As is stands now, Mount St. Mary’s is top of the table after their 66-58 win at Saint Francis last Saturday. The Hoyas host the Red Flash this coming Saturday. After the blowout loss to Notre Dame, Georgetown continues their season opening 8-game homestand with five ‘should be’ wins. Winning all of the games they are supposed to win would be a step in the right direction. Finding more shooters and improving on defense would also be helpful.
Mount St. Mary’s: A program changing win I suppose. The Mountaineers were picked 11th of 13 schools in the MAAC preseason poll. They are 0-24 against schools in the Big East and a quick check of KenPom results shows that they have zero major conference victories since at least 1997.
LAST MEETING
Georgetown scored a wire to wire victory over The Mount last season as former Hoya Dontrez Styles led four in double figures with a career high 26 points.
