NOTES
Since 2013, Georgetown has lost 23 of 26 games against Villanova. You have to go back even further to find the last Hoyas win at Villanova, which happened back on Jan. 29, 2011. Austin Freeman was unstoppable that day dropping 30 and completely dominating down the stretch in a 69-66 victory that I was fortunate enough to watch in person. Yes there was once a time when going to games at Villanova both fit in my schedule and provided a fun away trip thanks to winning four out of six from 2005-2011. The Hoyas have dropped 12 straight at Villanova and their last win in the Pavilion came in 2005.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
Georgetown: Well it’s difficult to say what tonight’s expectation is without knowing who will actually play meaningful minutes. Now this isn’t Jay Wright’s Villanova but without Thomas Sorber (right elbow), Georgetown will struggle to put together Big East wins against anybody as was the case last Friday night at home against DePaul. As always, decisions on both Sorber and Jayde Epps (left hamstring) will be made or at least announced right before tip-off.
