Georgetown has added LSU transfer Brandon Murray, according to multiple reports including one by Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com.
The 6-foot-5 Murray averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds as a freshman.
He follows former LSU interim coach Kevin Nickelberry, who joined Patrick Ewing’s staff last month as an assistant.
“I’m happy to welcome Brandon Murray to the Hilltop,” Ewing said. “He chose Georgetown and we want to make him feel right at home. I am excited to see what he can do here and he is an important building block in our efforts to return this program back to national prominence.”
Georgetown has seen four players transfer out this offseason in Kobe Clark, Timothy Ighoefe, Tyler Beard and Jalin Billingsley.
The Hoyas went 0-19 in the Big East last season and lost 21 straight games to end the season, but Ewing was given a vote of confidence to return for the 2022-23 season with the expectation that changes would be made.
The Hoyas changed two assistant coaches and will now have a revamped roster as well.
