Georgetown bolsters roster with transfer Supreme Cook, reclassified forward Drew McKenna

Georgetown coach Ed Cooley and his staff bolstered their roster with two key additions on Thursday.

The Hoyas added Fairfield transfer Supreme Cook, a 6-foot-9 junior from East Orange, N.J., who averaged 13.1 points and 8.5 rebounds last season for the Stags.

He will add a veteran presence in the rugged Big East during Cooley’s first season with the Hoyas.

Georgetown also added four-star small forward Drew McKenna, a 6-8 wing from Ellicott City (Md.) Glenelg Country School who reclassified from the Class of 2023. He also considered Butler and Xavier, per Joe Tipton.

“I chose Georgetown because Ed Cooley is a very relatable coach,” he told Tipton. “He understands me and my family and he matches how hungry I am. I love the passion and integrity he has as a coach. I am from PG County, Maryland which is in the DMV about 15 minutes away from DC. I like his vision about taking the talent from the area to make Georgetown great again. I think I’m the player to help him do that.”

He added: ““I am a great all-around player. I am very versatile for my height and size. I am super skilled scorer that is a very tough player. I play the 2-4 and I impact the game and multiple ways. They are getting a tough basketball player who is going to do everything to win.”

Georgetown’s current 2023-24 roster is as follows:

G Jayden Epps
G Rowan Brumbaugh
G Jay Heath
G/F Wayne Bristol Jr.
F Ismael Massoud
F Dontrez Styles
F Drew McKenna
F Akok Akok
F/C Drew Fielder
C Ryan Mutombo
C Supreme Cook

Preferred Walk-On: Hashem Asad
