Lehigh To Open 2024-25 Campaign At Northwestern | Lehigh Sports
After months of preparation, the 2024-25 college basketball season is upon us. Lehigh men’s basketball will kick off their campaign with four consecutive road games, starting with a date against the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston, Illinois on November 4.
Lehigh’s matchup with Northwestern will be the first of eleven non-league games for the Mountain Hawks prior to Patriot League play. Lehigh will also face Georgetown, UCLA and Dayton amongst others as part of their non-league schedule…
The Mountain Hawks enter the 2024-25 season off the heels of their first Patriot League championship game appearance since 2017. Lehigh returns five players who started in 15 or more games, including former All-Patriot League selections Tyler Whitney-Sidney and Keith Higgins Jr. Other returners who saw significant minutes in 2023-24 are sophomores Cam Gillus, Nasir Whitlock and Joshua Ingram, junior Bube Momah and senior Ben Knostman. Head coach Dr. Brett Reed is entering his 18th season at the helm of the Lehigh men’s basketball program.

2024-25 DMV Men’s College Hoops Preview – Time to Deliver | Road 2 The Garden
In addition to the transfers, Georgetown has nine freshmen joining the team, most notably Forwards Caleb Williams and Drew McKenna. Both are DMV products and both should be year one contributors for Cooley.
In year two under Cooley, success will be measured on improvement. The Hoyas need to win more than two games in the Big East this season..
They might be hard-pressed to do so. However, if the incoming transfers and true freshman collaborate well and everything comes together, the Hoyas might just be able to rise from the basement of the Big East.
Lehigh went 14-18 with a 9-9 record in the Patriots League last season, but veteran head coach Brett Reed has been known to scheme up the right plan for a big game. He, along with NBA star CJ McCollum, led the Mountain Hawks to one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history when Lehigh defeated Duke during the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
Last season, the Mountain Hawks came just one game away from reaching the NCAA Tournament, as they lost to Colgate in the Patriot League Tournament Championship…
Lehigh will lean on Tyler Whitney-Sidney and Keith Higgins Jr. for returning scoring production, and point guard Cam Gillus as lead playmaker.
Whitney-Sidney averaged 15.2 points per game last season and was named a 2024-25 preseason All-Patriot League selection while Higgins Jr. averaged 12.6 points per game and was a first-team All-Patriot League pick a year ago.
Whitney-Sidney Lands On Preseason All-Patriot League Team, Lehigh Picked Fifth | Lehigh Sports
Senior guard Tyler Whitney-Sidney has been named to the Preseason Men’s Basketball All-Patriot League team, as announced by the league on Thursday morning. In addition, the Mountain Hawks were picked to finish in fifth place…
Since arriving on campus in 2021, Whitney-Sidney has made an impact every season. The Somerville, Massachusetts native earned All-Rookie honors as a first-year, third team All-League as a sophomore and first team All-League last year as a junior. Whitney-Sidney led the Mountain Hawks with a career-high 15.2 points per game and assists with 65 on the season. He reached 20+ points eight times and posted a career-high field goal percentage at 47.5%.
Whitney-Sidney is joined by 2023 first team All-Patriot League selection Keith Higgins Jr., who averaged 12.6 points per game in 23 games played. Sophomore Cam Gillus returns as the team’s starting point guard after earning All-Tournament honors a season ago. Sophomores Joshua Ingram, Nasir Whitlock and senior Ben Knostman will look to provide quality backcourt depth while junior Bube Momah returns as a crucial frontcourt piece for the Mountain Hawks.
