Most of Maryland is under a wind advisory Sunday with the chance of scattered thunderstorms and wind speeds up to 50 mph expected throughout the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
The wind advisory covers central, Northern and Western Maryland is set to expire at 6 p.m. Wind speeds for the Baltimore area are expected to be around 21 mph with gusts up to 40 mph — causing hazards for high-profile vehicles like tractor-trailers, and the chance for power outages.

Unsecured outdoor objects are recommended by the NWS to be secured to avoid damages.
Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected after 5 p.m. Precipitation chances are around 80% Sunday evening, increasing to 90% as the night goes on with showers and thunderstorms expected to last until about 2 a.m.
Sunday’s high was around 66, and the low is expected to be around 51 in the evening.
Headed into Monday, wind speeds are expected to range from 10 to 16 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Conditions are forecast to be mostly cloudy with a high of 58. Monday night, wind speeds should slow down to about 7 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Monday’s low is projected to be around 36.
Tuesday is forecast to be sunny with a high near 63. Wind speeds Tuesday are expected to range from 7 to 9 mph with no heavy gusts predicted. Tuesday night, the low is anticipated to be around 43 with mostly clear conditions.
Wednesday is projected to be mostly sunny with a high of 64 prior to cloud coverage setting in Wednesday evening. The low is expected to be 46.
Showers are likely to return Thursday after 2 p.m. Conditions are forecast to be mostly cloudy with a high of 62 and a precipitation chance of 70%
Thursday evening, showers remain likely, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy conditions are expected with a low of 35.
Friday should end the workweek with mostly sunny conditions and a high of 51. Friday night is expected to be 51.
Saturday is forecast to be partly sunny with a high near 58 and a low of 42.
