Christian Jeffrey, a four-star Brooklyn native, has committed to Maryland, he told ZAGSBLOG Wednesday.
The 6-foot-4 guard comes out of the talented New Heights Lightning Nike EYBL program and Mt. Zion Prep in Maryland. He chose the Terrapins over Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Penn State, among others.
“I chose Maryland because it felt like home the moment I stepped on campus,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “Coach [Kevin] Willard does a great job with point guards, so I believe I can be the next great point guard he develops.”
He is Maryland’s second commit in their class of 2025, joining four-star Marcus Jackson, who hails from Compass Prep in Arizona. Jeffrey’s Mt. Zion teammate, Malachi Palmer, was a three-star pledge to the ‘Terps in the class of 2024 as well, alongside five-star Montverde product Derrick Queen.
Jeffrey is an athletic, ran guard who ran point for New Heights over the summer. He translates as a true combo guard, who is explosive downhill and playmakes with ease. His rangy frame lets him lockdown on the defensive end, and show high potential.
