Friday’s game will begin at 6 p.m., Saturday’s game will start at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s matchup will commence at 1 p.m. Both Friday and Sunday’s game will stream on Big Ten Plus, while Saturday’s contest will air on Big Ten Network.
No. 15 Oregon Ducks (22-9, 10-5 Big Ten)
2024 record: 40-20, 19-11 Pac-12
In his five-year coaching tenure at Oregon, head coach Mark Wasikowski has built the Ducks into a successful program. In his first full season, he led the Ducks to a 12-win improvement from the previous season, and has won at least 30 games in every full season.
Wasikowski has led the Ducks to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, matching the longest run in program history.
Hitters to watch
Maddox Molony, sophomore infielder, No. 9 — After being named to the All-Pac-12 first team his freshman year, Molony has been even better this season. He has raised his batting average from .315 to a team-leading .367, while boasting a 1.163 OPS, 30 RBIs and 11 home runs.
Jacob Walsh, senior first baseman, No. 25 — Walsh has spent his entire college career at Oregon, and 2025 has been his best season yet. He has raised his batting average nearly 100 points — .254 to .349 — while leading the team with 33 RBIs and 44 total hits.
Mason Neville, junior outfielder, No. 26 — The Arkansas transfer is in his second year at Oregon and is much improved. He has increased his batting average from .268 in his All-Pac-12 honorable mention season in 2024 to .325 this season, and leads the team with 15 home runs and seven stolen bases.
Pitchers to watch
Grayson Grinsell, junior left-hander, No. 2 — The 2024 All-Pac-12 honorable mention has been the regular Friday starter for the Ducks this season. In a team-leading 45 innings pitched, he boasts a 5-1 record and is fourth in the Big Ten with a 3.40 ERA, improved from 4.08 last season.
Collin Clarke, sophomore right-hander, No. 10 — After starting just one game as a freshman, Clarke has assumed the Saturday starter role this season. He has started seven games this season, earned 2-1 record and cut his ERA from 6.41 to 3.76 in 38.1 innings pitched.
Ian Umlandt, junior left-hander, No. 24 — Umlandt has made eight appearances and three starts this season. He has a 3-1 record while posting a 1.57 ERA — up from 3.94 last season — in 28.2 innings pitched.
Strength
Pitching depth. Oregon’s pitching has been the opposite of Maryland’s this season, helping lead the team to success. Only three pitchers have an ERA above 5.12, and only one has an ERA above eight.
Weakness
Winning close games. The Ducks are 6-7 and have lost four consecutive games decided by two runs or less.
Three things to know
1. New conference, no problem. In its first year in the Big Ten, the Ducks currently sit in third place in the conference standings.
2. Lack of road games. Oregon has played just six road games this season and has yet to travel into the Eastern Coast
3. Chance for a statement. Maryland snapped its losing streak Wednesday, and now has a resume-boosting opportunity against Oregon to keep its postseason hopes alive.
