Four-star edge rusher Zahir Mathis committed to Maryland football, he announced on a 247Sports livestream Wednesday.
He is the No. 114-ranked recruit and No. 12-ranked edge rusher in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. Mathis is the Terps third-highest ranked player in the class of 2025 and their sixth four-star.
Listed at 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, Mathis attends Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia, where he posted 34 tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks as a senior.
Originally committed to Ohio State, Mathis decommitted on Nov. 18 and ultimately chose the Terps over Florida State.
