Ryan Nemzer will no longer serve as head coach after nearly three years.
Meghan Ryan Nemzer will no longer serve as Maryland women’s soccer’s head coach, Maryland athletics announced Thursday. Ryan Nemzer was in the midst of her third season in College Park.
Assistant coach Michael Marchiano will serve as interim head coach for the rest of the 2024 season, including Thursday night’s game against No. 20 Penn State.
“We thank Meg for her service in leading the women’s soccer program since 2022,” director of athletics Damon Evans said in a press release. “We wish her well in her future endeavors. Michael Marchiano will take over leading the program for the remainder of the season before we conduct a national search for the permanent head coach of the women’s soccer program.”
Maryland was 10-25-14 under Ryan Nemzer. The Terps were 3-21-2 in Big Ten matches and had not scored a goal in the last 16 conference matches.
