This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
Maryland men’s basketball forward Julian Reese was named to the Karl Malone Award preseason watch list Thursday.
Reese is one of four forwards from the Big Ten to be named to the watch list. The Karl Malone Award is granted to the best power forward in the country. This is the second consecutive year Reese has been named to the watch list.
In 2023, Reese averaged 13.7 points, 9.5 rebounds — the third-best mark in the Big Ten — and 1.9 blocks per game — the fifth-best mark in the conference. Reese finished the campaign with an All-Big Ten honorable mention nod.
