Redshirt junior Jaxon Smith, in the 184-pound weight class, was Maryland’s best farer in rankings, slotting in eighth in InterMat and 11th in FloWrestling. Fellow redshirt junior Braxton Brown also ranked well, earning No. 12 by InterMat and No. 16 by FloWrestling in the 133-pound weight class.
Seth Nevills, a 285-pound graduate student, Ethen Miller, a 157-pound redshirt junior, and Kai Miller, a 149-pound junior, also ranked.
The Terps’ season kicked off Sunday with dual wins over Bucknell and Kent State.
