Andre Powell will return to Maryland football as its Special Teams Coordinator for the 2025 season, head coach Michael Locksley announced Tuesday.
Powell spent the 2024 season as East Carolina’s special teams coordinator. The 35-year coaching veteran also spent nine years at Pittsburgh, where he served as both the running backs coach and special teams coordinator. He was named FootballScoop’s Special Teams Coordinator of the Year in 2016.
Powell coached at Maryland from 2012-14, when he served as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator. Prior to his time at Maryland, Powell coached at Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia, among other programs.
