This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
No. 2 Maryland men’s lacrosse attacker Eric Spanos and goalie Logan McNaney earned Big Ten weekly awards, it was announced Tuesday.
The Terps toppled then-No. 2 Syracuse Saturday, and both players had significant impacts in the win. Spanos tallied four points — two assists and two goals — marking his second four-point outing in as many games, and was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
McNaney earned his first Big Ten Specialist of the Week honor of the season. He made 12 saves while letting up seven goals or less for the third straight contest. His 64.3% save percentage is third-best in the nation among goalkeepers who have played multiple games.
