Five-star defensive end and Maryland football commit in the 2026 class Zion Elee has shut down his recruitment, he announced on X Friday.

Elee, who attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, will no longer take previously planned official visits to Ohio State, Auburn, Penn State, Texas A&M and South Carolina, according to On3. He will still take an official visit to Maryland the weekend of June 20.
Elee, 247Sports’ No. 2 player and No. 1 edge rusher in the 2026 class, committed to the Terps on Dec. 7. Closing his recruitment is solely verbal, and could change, but should indicate strong progress in Maryland locking down what’s currently the highest-ranked recruit in program history.
