Maryland gymnastics placed first in the Rutgers Quad Sunday at Jersey Mike’s Arena, where it competed against the Scarlet Knights, Fisk and Utica. The Terps posted a score of 194.625.
Maryland was particularly skillful on floor in its third rotation, as Natalie Martin and Alexa Rothenbuescher both notched highs of 9.875. The Terps ultimately set a new season-high with a score of 49.250.
Rothenbuescher also performed well on the beam, posting a 9.825 and helping Maryland to third place in the event. The Terps won the vault event with a team score of 48.950, while they tied with Rutgers for first place in the uneven bars with a team score of 48.450.
