No. 1 Maryland men’s lacrosse attacker/midfielder Eric Spanos and defender Will Schaller were named Big Ten offensive and defensive player of the week, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday.

The pair earned the honors for their efforts in the Terps’ 11-10 win over then-No. 1 Notre Dame Saturday. Spanos led the team with three goals, also adding an assist, while Schaller recorded two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
It’s Spanos’ third Big Ten offensive player of the week nod this season, and the fifth of his career, while Schaller picks up the first defensive player of the week honor of his career.
