In December, Gov. Wes Moore said he would support legislation allowing Maryland grocery stores to sell beer and wine. But last week, state Senate President Bill Ferguson said that the proposal isn’t at the top of his list of legislative priorities.
Maryland is one of three states, along with Rhode Island and Alaska, that prohibits the sale of beer in its grocery stores and one of 10 that does not allow the sale of wine, according to Moore.
