The Spalding defensive back committed to Maryland this past summer alongside quarterback and teammate Malik Washington. Shipps and the Cavaliers won their third straight MIAA A title last season. The three-star prospect is the No. 37-ranked recruit in Maryland, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Shipps discussed his commitment to the Terps and his relationship with Washington. The defensive back also talked about fellow Spalding teammate and Maryland commit Delmar White.
Shipps shared what he is most excited about becoming a Terp.
“I just wanna go see Cali[fornia],” Shipps said. “I have never been out there before. I definitely want to go to UCLA.”
