4,200-yard wide receiver Tee Higgins fires his NFL agent in a move that could signal that he’s looking for a huge deal in his next contract. According to a report, Higgins has officially let go of David Mulugheta after being his agent for the last few years. The Cincinnati Bengals’ offseason plans will come down to a tough decision in their receiving corps as they will have to allocate as many resources to extend both Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. It won’t be an easy road while they already have Joe Burrow on lock for the next several years, so they may have to pick between Chase or Higgins. Originally selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Higgins has been a reliable playmaker for Burrow’s offense despite Chase capturing most of the spotlight during his tenure.
However, he was in several trade rumors that were swirling all this past offseason before signing a franchise tender to return in time for training camp. Higgins parting ways with his agent does not look good for the Bengals who want him back but his patience will be wearing thin since he’ll be more motivated to get potentially the contract Cincinnati can’t afford. With needing to extend Chase as well, he’s not waiting any longer for an extension either so letting Higgins walk this upcoming March might be the move Cincinnati has to risk.
Higgins made things loud after releasing his agent, he will only sign with the Bengals on a long-term deal rather than something short-term as they agreed to this past offseason. However, it shouldn’t be too long before he finds a new NFL roster and many contenders need a new receiver like the Ravens, Chiefs and Chargers.

Diontae Johnson Afterlife
The Baltimore Ravens came into this season with the momentum in their hands after signing Derrick Henry to improve the ground game for Lamar Jackson. However, they never found an Odell Beckham Jr. replacement until trading for Diontae Johnson to give Nelson Agholor some relief in the backend. The Ravens are still depending on Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman but Johnson’s issues have been problematic for Baltimore’s locker room despite denial. Baltimore signing Higgins could give Jackson a long-term receiver who could finally give a deep-threat receiver alongside Flowers.
Reconstructing the Chiefs
The Chiefs haven’t been the same roster that everyone remembers after winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Since losing several wide receivers like Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice, the offense hasn’t been anywhere as efficient as last year despite trading for DeAndre Hopkins. While Brown and Hopkins will become free agents, it may force the Chiefs to sign Higgins this upcoming season with a new rejuvenated passing game for Patrick Mahomes alongside Rice and rookie Xavier Worthy. However, since they’ll lose several receivers like Justin Watson and JuJu Smith-Schuster this upcoming offseason, the Chiefs might not have any choice but to have a solid three-set receiver that could superstar for the longevity of the offense.
L.A. Higgins
Meanwhile, the Chargers have been one of the several teams that have been linked to Tee Higgins. Despite drafting Ladd McConkey and signing DJ Chark this offseason, the team still has a large hole in their receiving corps. While McConkey looks like the long-term for Justin Herbert in the slot game, they could compete to sign Higgins this upcoming offseason to address the deep passing game issues. Quentin Johnston was supposed to fill that role but he hasn’t done anything phenomenal for the Chargers to think he’ll stick around any longer.
